In my research into an explorer’s mindset I've come to understand an explorer's story creates value when it differentiates exploration from adventure. Beyond mere survival tales in extreme environments, or episodes of record breaking endurance, or new data and observations collected, the explorer tells stories of experiences, learning and encounter which change and enrich others' understanding of the world and what's possible. They're transformative. Example? Reza Pakravan FRGS 's incredible expedition across the Sahel - not only reveals the dramatic global repercussions of climate change, it will have you on the edge of your seat.
British-Iranian explorer and filmmaker Reza Pakravan is setting off on an epic journey along
Africa’s most volatile and dangerous borders to discover the lives of those who live there.
The series will tell the story of this troubled forgotten region through the eyes of Reza. Taking the audience on a visually stunning journey across the continent, Reza will explore nations devastated by war and terrorism, to tell the story of its forgotten people. Reza’s thirst for living life on the edge has taken him to remote corners of the planet. This time he will track across seven nations in the Sahelian belt to discover enduring traditions, religious diversity and extraordinary landscapes.
